What We Do...

Financial advice for regular, everyday people in Marietta, Parkersburg, and the rest of the Mid Ohio Valley

Many people expect a financial advisor to work only with the wealthy. But, there are a lot of other people out there who need sound advice.

Most of the people we work with are regular, middle-class folks who need some help in creating a better life.
We believe in:
  • A practical, common sense approach
  • Making advice available to everyone – there are no minimum account requirements.
  • Making advice affordable.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Fiduciary is someone who puts the interests of others ahead of their own.  In the financial industry not everyone is required to act in a fiduciary capacity.  Brokerage firms and insurance companies operate with a best interests standards which might conflict with what is best for their clients.

Fleming Watson Financial Advisors acts as a fiduciary.

As a registered investment advisory firm, we are legally bound to place our clients’ interest first, and act in the capacity of a fiduciary.  Likewise as a Certified Financial Planner Professional, Neal Watson has committed to placing the interests of his clients ahead of his own.

In the financial services industry, you will find a variety of initials following the names of many advisors.  This alphabet soup represents a number of professional designations relating to financial planning, investing and insurance.

The CFP® Difference

The initials “CFP” stand for Certified Financial Planner Professional. CFP® pros are held to strict ethical standards to ensure financial planning recommendations are in your best interest.  A CFP® pro must meet specific specific requirements to earn the designation.  Fewer than 30% of financial professionals have met these requirements.  Neal earned his CFP® designation in 1999.

We believe in being completely transparent about the costs of doing business.  We clearly explain the fees charged for the services provided.

Investment Management

For investment management services, our fees are based on the assets in our client accounts.

Financial Planning

Often times, our clients engage us to do only planning work which does not include managing a portfolio.  For those clients, we work with them on either an hourly basis or a flat fee basis.  (Our fee structure is explained in our disclosure document.)

Commissions and Sales Incentives

Fleming Watson does not receive any commissions for the sale or recommendation of investment products.  We do not receive any benefits or incentives to recommend investment products to our clients.
